"Chakra",  means disk, wheel or even a circle, has always remained the axial symbol of Indian civilisation. Chakra, derived from the Sanskrit root kr- or kar, to make (or to do), which also signifies movement or dynamism. The Chakra explains spiritual or divine centres in the human body, which can be invoked through meditation to experience the real enlightenment of the human life. The sages of ancient India gave certain methods and philosophy to achieve the best of life has to offer.   

The seven Chakra are as follows:-

CROWN   - Spirituality
THIRD EYE   - Intuition, Wisdom
THROAT   - Communication, Self-expression
HEART  - Love & Relationships
SOLAR PLEXUS  - Personal power, Self will
SACRAL   - Emotional balance, Sexuality

This chakra is located at the bottom of the spine, this chakra has been linked to our physical needs and a sense of survival. In the physical body it is connected to our circulatory system, genital area and lower body. This chakra coloured red (Spiritual colour for will and power) depicted as a square, or a yantra, and the inverted triangle denotes downward movement of energy, which keeps us grounded to earth. This been the case can have a tendency to pull us downward and get us wrapped up in our material existence here on earth.

SACRAL CHAKRA

This chakra is located on the spine; at the lower back area, between the navel and the base of the spine, this chakra has been linked to the sexual, emotional desires. In the physical body it is connected to our reproductive system, the muscular and bladder systems. This chakra coloured orange (spiritual colour of truth and honesty) depicted by a moon has a good natured, dramatic and zest for life energy about it. The moon also relates to creativity, the energy that shifts us from the survival to nurturing the soul, we travel up from the root chakra to the "pleasure principle" embracing what makes life worth living.

SOLAR PLEXIS CHAKRA

This chakra is located just above the navel; associated with intellect and thinking, in the physical body it is connected with the digestive system, stomach, liver and gall bladder. This chakra coloured yellow (spiritual colour of energy) has the transformational elements to change the self into a being of power and self - will. This chakra acknowledges differences and brings balance to the polarities also individual power of uniqueness while enjoying our connection with humanity.

HEART CHAKRA

Heart Chakra. This chakra is located in the heart area, its functions being the center of higher emotions such as love and affects the heart, upper back, thorax, lower lungs and the blood and circulatory system. This chakra coloured green, pink and sometimes gold. Its functions being devotion, healing, harmony, love, sorrow, and even pain. The heart chakra is located in the center of the breast and opens toward the front. It is the center of the entire chakra system and connects the lower to the three higher centers. When completely opened, it forms the center of true ‘unconditional’ love. The heart chakra functions on an emotional basis, our feelings and how we express them towards ourselves and others. Connected to love and compassion. This chakra is the center of feelings of love harmony and peace.

THROAT CHAKRA

Throat Chakra. This chakra coloured light or sky blue, the colour blue is the colour of wisdom healing and freedom, and a sense of self-expression. It is found in the hollow of the throat, its function being communTheication, singing, talking, and telepathy. This chakra governs the throat, thyroid, mouth teeth and tongue. The energy created from this centre is a major emotional and spiritual healing tool. The throat chakra helps us to express our feelings of happiness and love our aggressiveness and our desires. This chakra represents the will centre.

THIRD EYE CHAKRA

The ‘master gland’. This chakra is located above the bridge of the nose in the center of the forehead and opens to the front. This chakra coloured indigo blue, purple or violet. Its function being control of the endocrine system, spiritual will, projection of will, associated with the pituitary gland and the central nervous system. It is the seat of our higher mental powers and associated with intuition and wisdom. This chakra is associated with thought and vision, particularly psychic vision, the chakra of spiritual love and connection. By developing our consciousness and third eye chakra we can control our lives.

CROWN CHAKRA

This chakra is location at the crown or middle of the head and opens upwards is violet fading to white and then gold further away from the body, it is the colour of meditation and devotion. Its function, energizing the brain and pineal gland, completion, universal knowledge and spirituality. Healing, the ability to heal self and others. Knowingness: the ability to be still and know. Source of divine awareness. With the crown chakra we can open ourselves up to its indulgence and allow things to happen through us.
